Tower Grove Farmers’ Market & Bazaar. 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tower Grove Park, west of the Pool Pavilion.

Kirkwood Farmers’ Market Peach Festival. 10 a.m. to noon. Downtown Kirkwood.
Visitors will enjoy peach samples from local farmers, as well as peach treats and other menu items. Market customers will have the opportunity to cast a vote for the best locally grown peach. Up on the Roof! at Bowood Farms. 10 a.m. 4605 Olive Street.
Free staff-run tours of the Bowood Farms and Cafe Osage rooftop gardens. See a variety of herbs, sedums and flowering plants thriving on the roof. Sunday, June 18
7th Annual “Paddle With Your Pooch” Boat Race. 12:30 p.m. The Boathouse in Forest Park.
The Boathouse in Forest Park hosts its 7th Annual “Paddle With Your Pooch” dog-and-master boat race this Sunday. KMOX personality Charlie Brennan will announce the event’s three heats and final race. An awards ceremony praising the top pooches and two-legged paddlers will follow. Food, beverages and Paddle With Your Pooch T-shirts will be available for purchase. Proceeds from the event benefit Forest Park Forever. The entry fee is $30 per dog-and-master team. (Maximum occupancy per paddleboat is three humans, plus one pooch.) Register online at www.boathouseforestpark.com. Pre-payment by credit card is required. Entries will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis until 30 teams have registered for each heat. Registrations will be confirmed by e-mail. Additional entries will be put on a waiting list in the order received. Entry fees are non-refundable.

Around Town: Weekend Guide

With all of the unique and vibrant neighborhoods that make up our city, spring and summer in St. Louis are always full of exciting events and fun-filled festivals. Here is a list of five fabulous ideas that are sure to keep you busy this weekend.

June 11-13
16th Annual Central West End Art Fair & Taste. Friday, June 11, from 5-11 p.m.; Saturday, June 12, from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.; and Sunday, June 13, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. This eclectic event features more than 60 regional artists and some of the best culinary creations that St. Louis has to offer. Sample delectable dishes from a variety of restaurants along Maryland Plaza, Euclid and McPherson while enjoying live music on the Straub’s Main Stage. Click here for more information.

June 11-13
Shakespeare Festival St. Louis presents Hamlet. 8 p.m. The 2010 production of Hamlet marks the festival’s 10th anniversary. This event is free and takes place on Fine Arts Drive at Shakespeare Glen in Forest Park. Hamlet will continue to run nightly through June 20, except on Tuesdays. Each performance is preceded by a Green Show at 6:30 p.m., which features a 20-minute play that introduces the characters and plot and a variety of other entertainers. June 12
2010 Chesterfield Garden Tour. 9 a.m to 3 p.m. Presented by the Chesterfield Beautification Committee, this year’s tour will showcase seven gorgeous gardens, rain or shine. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at City Hall, 690 Chesterfield Parkway West, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Friday, June 11, and on Saturday, June 12 from 9 to 11 a.m. (cash only on Saturday). June 12
Town & Country Garden Club Garden Tour. 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Enjoy the rare opportunity to see eight of Town & Country’s most unique and beautiful gardens, rain or shine. Tickets are $12 and may be purchased at the Town & Country Municipal Center on Friday, June 11, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and at Longview Far House on the day of the tour from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Payment by check only please, made payable to the Town & Country Garden Club. June 12-13
6th Annual Ste. Genevieve Antique Show & Sale. Saturday, June 12, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, June 13, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Ste. Genevieve is about an hour drive from St. Louis, making it the perfect destination for a weekend getaway. This weekend’s show and sale – located in the Old Rozier Building at 3rd and Merchant Streets – will feature a variety of antiques from the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries displayed throughout this nearly 100-year-old home and its spacious lawn. Bark in the Park 2010

Gather your family and four-legged friends for Bark in the Park on Saturday, May 15, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The largest dog festival in the Midwest, this fun-filled event will take place at Cricket Field in Forest Park and is sponsored by the Humane Society of Missouri and Purina®. Proceeds from Bark in the Park will benefit homeless animals at the Humane Society of Missouri. Registration includes the dog walk, country fair festival, and a T-shirt.

Activities throughout the day include:
10 a.m. to 1 p.m. – Silent Auction
11 a.m. – The Dog Walk for Animals
1:30 p.m. – Pet Contest (such as Best Dog/Owner Look-a-Like and more!)
2:15 p.m. – Doggie Derbies (races for dogs of all sizes)
